AutoTRUST at European Researchers’ Night 2025: Building Safer and Smarter Transport

by Katerina Maxouti (NPT)

On 26 September 2025, AutoTRUST took centre stage at the European Researchers’ Night in Nicosia, Cyprus, where we shared how our project is shaping the future of public transport safety, trust, security, and well-being.

Our Showcase

At NPT’s indoor booth, themed “Driving Innovation in Mobility”, visitors explored the environmental sensors developed by UCY under AutoTRUST. These cutting-edge devices monitor air quality and environmental conditions in real time, supporting smarter decision-making for transport services.

Soon, these sensors will be piloted on our fleet services, including Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) and Pame Express, helping improve passenger experience and operational efficiency. Interactive displays and videos gave attendees a closer look at how AutoTRUST works behind the scenes, while our team—together with UCY colleagues—answered questions about the technology and its benefits for Cyprus and beyond.

Building Awareness and Collaboration

Events like Researchers’ Night are vital for building public confidence in emerging technologies. They allow us to share progress, gather feedback, and inspire future generations to embrace sustainable and intelligent mobility solutions.

For AutoTRUST, this engagement is key to ensuring that our solutions are not only technically robust but also socially accepted and trusted.

Looking Ahead

AutoTRUST is entering a pivotal stage as we move into full implementation. In the coming months, we will pilot our environmental sensors on real services, integrate user feedback into our trust frameworks, and continue developing solutions that make automation transparent and reliable.

Our goal is clear: to create mobility systems that people can trust—today and in the future.
