Momentum and Milestones: Highlights from the AutoTRUST Fourth Plenary Meeting
The AutoTRUST Fourth Plenary Meeting (October 13-14) brought together partners from across Europe, Korea, and the United States for two highly productive days of collaboration and strategic planning. This gathering marked an important milestone for the project, offering a shared space to assess progress, align on upcoming milestones, and strengthen our collective vision for inclusive, trustworthy, and adaptive autonomous mobility.
Hosted at the KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence (University of Cyprus), the meeting provided an ideal environment for deep technical discussions and hands‑on demonstrations. Partners had the opportunity to explore KIOS’s advanced research facilities, gaining insight into their full‑scale infrastructure monitoring systems and resilience‑focused technologies—an inspiring backdrop for conversations about the future of autonomous mobility.

A key moment of the meeting was the session with Cyprus Public Transport, who presented their citizen‑centric innovation efforts. Their dedicated transit service for impaired citizens—enhanced by AI‑powered passenger well‑being monitoring —sparked valuable discussion, particularly with M. Klaus‑Peter Wegge, our AutoTRUST expert on accessibility and mobility needs from Siemens. The consortium also reviewed ongoing technical developments. ALKE presented progress on its self‑driving platform, which integrates advanced in‑ and out‑of‑vehicle monitoring and auto‑set‑up solutions designed to improve comfort and usability for individuals with limited mobility or visual impairments. These contributions are central to AutoTRUST’s mission of ensuring that future autonomous services are not only intelligent and adaptive, but also genuinely inclusive.
Overall, the General Assembly reinforced the strength of the consortium and the ambition of the project. With partners aligned and momentum building, AutoTRUST is well positioned to deliver impactful innovations in the months ahead.
